Restore missing or misplaced EasySIGN interface elements

Audience

This article is for EasySIGN users who are missing interface elements, see a toolbar in the wrong position, or no longer see object dimensions at the bottom of the EasySIGN screen.

Primary use cases

Use this article when:

• A toolbar is visible but floating or misplaced.

• A toolbar is not docked correctly.

• The selection size or object information is no longer shown at the bottom of the EasySIGN window.

• The Status bar is missing.

• The Transformation Assistant toolbar is missing.

• The EasySIGN workspace layout has changed unexpectedly.

• You want to restore the default EasySIGN toolbar layout.

Customer scenario

A user opens EasySIGN and notices that the workspace looks different.

For example, the tools toolbar may be floating instead of docked, or the bottom bar that normally shows information about the selected object may no longer be visible.

These interface elements can usually be restored from the View menu. If docking a toolbar manually does not solve the issue, EasySIGN V6 includes a toolbar reset file that restores the default toolbar layout.

Summary

Start with the least disruptive solution.

If a toolbar is visible but not positioned correctly, try docking it first.

If the bottom information bar is missing, enable:

View → Status bar

If you want to see and edit object dimensions more easily, enable:

View → Toolbars → Transformation Assistant

If toolbar docking does not solve the layout issue, use the EasySIGN toolbar reset file:

C:\Program Files\EasySIGN\V06\Tools\PV6 Toolbars reset.reg

This reset returns EasySIGN toolbars to their default layout and removes custom toolbar settings.

1. Purpose and scope

This article explains how to restore missing or misplaced EasySIGN interface elements.

It covers:

• Restoring the Status bar.

• Enabling the Transformation Assistant.

• Docking a floating toolbar.

• Resetting all EasySIGN V6 toolbars to the default layout.

This article is intended for EasySIGN V6 installations.

The toolbar reset file described here is included with all supported EasySIGN V6 installations. In MasonART, this registry reset file is not included with the default installation.

2. Symptoms or customer problem

You may see one or more of the following symptoms:

• The EasySIGN workspace looks different than before.

• A toolbar is floating in the workspace.

• A toolbar is visible, but not docked to the side or top of the screen.

• The tools toolbar appears in a small separate window.

• The bottom status area is missing.

• The selected object size is no longer visible at the bottom of the screen.

• The user cannot easily see or change selected object dimensions.

• Custom toolbar changes have made the interface confusing.

3. Cause or background

EasySIGN toolbars and interface bars can be shown, hidden, moved, or docked.

Sometimes a toolbar is still active, but it is floating in the workspace instead of being docked to the normal position.

The Status bar and Transformation Assistant can also be hidden through the View menu.

If the layout becomes difficult to restore manually, EasySIGN V6 includes a registry file that resets the toolbar layout to the default settings.

4. Solution

Use the following order:

• First, dock a visible floating toolbar manually.

• If the bottom information bar is missing, enable View → Status bar.

• If object dimensions should be easier to view or edit, enable View → Toolbars → Transformation Assistant.

• If the toolbar layout still cannot be restored, run PV6 Toolbars reset.reg.

5. Step-by-step procedure

Step 1: Check whether the toolbar is only floating

  1. Look at the EasySIGN workspace.
  2. Check whether the missing toolbar is actually visible as a floating toolbar window.
  3. If the toolbar is visible, drag it toward the left, right, top, or bottom edge of the EasySIGN window.
  4. Release the toolbar when it docks into position.
  5. Close and reopen EasySIGN if needed to check whether the toolbar remains docked.

Step 2: Turn on the Status bar

  1. Open EasySIGN.
  2. Go to View.
  3. Select Status bar.
  4. Check the bottom of the EasySIGN window.
  5. Select an object and confirm that information is shown at the bottom of the screen.

Step 3: Turn on the Transformation Assistant

  1. Open EasySIGN.
  2. Go to View.
  3. Choose Toolbars.
  4. Select Transformation Assistant.
  5. Select an object in the workspace.
  6. Check whether object dimensions and transformation values are visible and editable.

Step 4: Reset the EasySIGN V6 toolbars if docking does not solve the issue

  1. Close EasySIGN.
  2. Open Windows File Explorer.
  3. Go to:

    C:\Program Files\EasySIGN\V06\Tools

  4. Find the file:

    PV6 Toolbars reset.reg

  5. Run the file.
  6. Confirm the Windows Registry prompt if it appears.
  7. Start EasySIGN again.
  8. Check whether the toolbars are restored to the default layout.

Step 5: Reconfigure any preferred toolbar layout

  1. Open EasySIGN.
  2. Turn on any toolbars you need through View → Toolbars.
  3. Dock toolbars in your preferred positions.
  4. Continue working once the interface layout is correct.

6. Validation

The issue is solved when:

• The missing toolbar is visible again.

• A floating toolbar is docked correctly.

• The bottom information bar is visible.

View → Status bar is enabled.

View → Toolbars → Transformation Assistant is enabled if dimensions need to be shown or edited.

• EasySIGN opens with the expected toolbar layout.

• The user can continue working normally.

7. Important notes and limitations

• The exact English menu path for the bottom bar is View → Status bar.

• The exact English menu path for the dimensions toolbar is View → Toolbars → Transformation Assistant.

• The current EasySIGN V6 toolbar reset file is PV6 Toolbars reset.reg.

• The reset file is located in C:\Program Files\EasySIGN\V06\Tools.

• The toolbar reset returns all EasySIGN toolbars to their default layout.

• The toolbar reset removes custom toolbar settings.

• The toolbar reset file is included with supported EasySIGN V6 installations.

• In MasonART, this registry reset file is not included with the default installation.

• Use manual docking first when the toolbar is visible but only misplaced.

8. Support checklist

Before escalating the case, check:

• Is the toolbar missing, or is it visible but floating?

• Has the user tried docking the toolbar manually?

• Is View → Status bar enabled?

• Is View → Toolbars → Transformation Assistant enabled?

• Does the user need dimensions at the bottom of the screen or in the Transformation Assistant?

• Is the customer using EasySIGN V6?

• Is PV6 Toolbars reset.reg available in C:\Program Files\EasySIGN\V06\Tools?

• Was EasySIGN closed before running the reset file?

• Did the toolbar layout return to default after restarting EasySIGN?

• Is the customer using MasonART, where the reset file is not included by default?

9. Conclusion

Most missing or misplaced EasySIGN interface elements can be restored from the View menu or by docking the toolbar manually.

Use View → Status bar to restore the bottom status area.

Use View → Toolbars → Transformation Assistant to show and edit object dimensions more easily.

If the toolbar layout cannot be restored manually, run PV6 Toolbars reset.reg from the EasySIGN V6 Tools folder to restore the default toolbar layout.
