Audience
This article is for EasySIGN users, IT administrators, network administrators, and support teams who need to configure firewall or security settings for EasySIGN online licensing.
Primary use cases
Use this article when:
• You can sign in to your EasySIGN account, but EasySIGN does not open.
• You are running the latest EasySIGN version, but EasySIGN still does not open or continues to show an internet or licensing-related message.
• EasySIGN keeps showing the welcome or sign-in dialog.
• EasySIGN shows an internet or licensing-related message.
• Your EasySIGN account has an active license, but the software does not retrieve it.
• Your firewall, router, antivirus, endpoint security, or internet provider security feature may be blocking EasySIGN.
• Your IT department needs to know which domains, IP addresses, and ports to allow.
Customer scenario
EasySIGN online licenses are retrieved through the EasySIGN license server. In some cases, signing in to the EasySIGN website or account page works, but the EasySIGN software still cannot continue.
This can happen when the login itself is allowed, but the license server connection is blocked by a firewall or security system. The result can look like a login problem, but the actual issue is that EasySIGN cannot create or receive the online license session.
Summary
EasySIGN needs access to the EasySIGN license server over HTTPS.
Where possible, allowlist EasySIGN by domain name instead of IP address. Domain allowlisting is easier to maintain and is the preferred option.
If your IT policy requires IP allowlisting, use the approved IP addresses listed in this article.
Analytics access is not required for EasySIGN online licensing.
Before changing firewall settings: update EasySIGN first
If EasySIGN shows the message “Internet related problem occurred! (35)”, first check whether the installed EasySIGN version is up to date.
This message can occur when an older EasySIGN version can no longer communicate correctly with the required online services.
Download and install the latest EasySIGN version from the official EasySIGN website, then restart EasySIGN and try again.
If the message still appears after updating EasySIGN, continue with the firewall, antivirus, endpoint security, router, or network checks in this article.
1. Purpose and scope
This article explains which network access is required for EasySIGN online licensing.
It covers:
• Required license server domains.
• Approved IP addresses for license server access.
• Website domains and IP addresses that may be needed for account access and downloads.
• Required port.
• How to validate whether the firewall change solved the issue.
This article does not cover offline licenses, local dongle licenses, or network troubleshooting outside EasySIGN licensing.
2. Symptoms or customer problem
You may see one or more of the following symptoms:
• EasySIGN opens the welcome or sign-in dialog again and again.
• You can sign in, but EasySIGN does not continue to the main workspace.
• EasySIGN shows “Internet related problem occurred! (35)”, especially when an older EasySIGN version is installed.
• Your EasySIGN account shows an active subscription, but the software does not start.
• The EasySIGN license is not claimed by the software.
• The problem started after a firewall, router, antivirus, endpoint security, or internet provider change.
• The internet connection works for websites, but EasySIGN still cannot retrieve the license.
• EasySIGN works on another network or hotspot, but not on the regular company network.
3. Cause or background
EasySIGN online licensing requires communication between the EasySIGN software and the EasySIGN license server.
A firewall or security product can allow general internet browsing while still blocking application traffic from EasySIGN. This means:
• The EasySIGN website may still open.
• The EasySIGN account login may still work.
• Other internet-connected applications may still work.
• EasySIGN may still fail to retrieve the license.
This is usually caused by firewall rules, application filtering, endpoint protection, router security, or a “smart firewall” feature that blocks specific programs or outgoing traffic.
4. Solution
Configure the firewall or security product to allow EasySIGN access to the required licensing services.
Preferred method:
• Allowlist the EasySIGN license domains.
Alternative method:
• If your IT policy does not allow domain-based rules, allowlist the approved IP addresses.
Required port:
• Allow outbound HTTPS traffic on port 443.
5. Step-by-step procedure
Step 1: Check whether the issue is network-related
- Close EasySIGN.
- Make sure the computer is connected to the normal company network.
- Start EasySIGN and try to sign in.
- If EasySIGN keeps returning to the welcome or sign-in dialog, test with another connection if possible, for example a mobile hotspot.
- If EasySIGN works on another connection, the company network or firewall is likely blocking licensing traffic.
Step 2: Ask your IT administrator to allow the required license server access
- Use domain allowlisting where possible.
- Allow the following domains:
• licenses.easysign.com
• backup.licenses.easysign.com - Allow the required port:
• 443
Step 3: Use IP allowlisting only when required
- If your firewall requires IP addresses, allow the following approved license server IP addresses:
• 134.209.136.168
• 170.64.185.16
• 188.166.10.91
Step 4: Allow EasySIGN website access if account pages or downloads are also blocked
- For EasySIGN website access, allow:
• www.easysign.com - Allow the approved website IP addresses:
• 62.221.208.59
• 2001:1460:3:7:1c00:67ff:fe00:2777
• 185.173.22.166
• 2a0b:3100:20::178
Step 5: Check security software and application rules
- Ask your IT administrator to check whether EasySIGN is blocked by:
• Firewall application rules.
• Antivirus software.
• Endpoint protection.
• Router security features.
• Internet provider security features.
• Smart firewall settings. - If EasySIGN is listed as blocked, allow EasySIGN and retry.
Step 6: Restart and test EasySIGN
- Close EasySIGN.
- Restart the computer if the firewall or security product requires it.
- Open EasySIGN.
- Sign in with the EasySIGN account that has the active license.
- Confirm that EasySIGN continues to the main workspace.
6. Validation
The issue is solved when:
• EasySIGN starts after signing in.
• The welcome or sign-in dialog no longer keeps returning.
• The active online license is retrieved by the software.
• The software opens the EasySIGN workspace.
• The issue no longer occurs on the normal company network.
A useful validation test is to compare the result on two networks:
• Regular company network.
• Mobile hotspot or another external network.
If EasySIGN works on the hotspot but not on the company network, the company network, firewall, or security product still needs adjustment.
7. Important notes and limitations
• Domain allowlisting is preferred over IP allowlisting where possible.
• IP addresses are provided for environments where IP allowlisting is required.
• Outbound HTTPS traffic on port 443 must be allowed.
• Analytics access is not required for EasySIGN online licensing.
• General internet access does not automatically mean EasySIGN licensing traffic is allowed.
• EasySIGN Support can provide the required domains and IP addresses, but your IT administrator must configure your firewall or security product.
• If your organization uses strict endpoint protection, application control, or router-based security, EasySIGN may need to be explicitly allowed as an application.
8. Support checklist
Before escalating the case, check:
• Is the installed EasySIGN version up to date, especially when the message “Internet related problem occurred! (35)” appears?
• Can the customer sign in to the EasySIGN website?
• Does the EasySIGN account show an active license?
• Does EasySIGN keep showing the welcome or sign-in dialog?
• Does the problem occur only on the company network?
• Has the customer tested using a mobile hotspot or another network?
• Are licenses.easysign.com and backup.licenses.easysign.com allowed?
• Is outbound HTTPS traffic on port 443 allowed?
• Is EasySIGN blocked by firewall application rules?
• Is EasySIGN blocked by antivirus or endpoint protection?
• Is a smart firewall or internet provider security feature enabled?
• Has the customer’s IT administrator checked and applied the allowlisting?
9. Conclusion
When EasySIGN login works but the software does not continue to the workspace, the cause is often a firewall or security rule that blocks the EasySIGN license server.
Allowlist the EasySIGN license domains first. Use IP allowlisting only when required by your IT policy. After the firewall rules are updated, restart EasySIGN and confirm that the online license is retrieved successfully.
